Alternative Energy

A new wave of technologies is on the verge of producing energy that's clean, renewable, and most importantly, affordable.

  1. Hmm, the only REAL answer is not be reliant on our cars/transportation as we have been in the 100 years. We have think BEFORE we used OIL and live as we did then – DON’T look for ‘alternatives’ to an OIL based economy its unsupportable and not sustainable.

    OIL = WARS – be warned !

  2. wow instead of spending bilions of dollars on low production renewable energy plants we could develop a better way of working with the nuclear energy and dispose the toxic materials into space->leading to more space technology development as offproduct. Please do not give money to those who developed global warming(since IPCC “lost” its data there is no scientific proof the earth is warming up ;) )

  3. The wind and sun are the two prominent sources of clean energy. With a growing urgency to fight climate change, renewable energy may be the way ahead. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers has been working on promoting and building a renewable energy economy.

  4. The same people who have prevented man from using alternative sources of fuel for decades, are now touting that it is urgent that we find alternative sources for energy. Have they convinced enough of us that the global warming is a threat? I don’t think so. They have prematurely pulled that trigger. In light of climategate, there will be more who open their eyes.

  15. Now there are so many possibilities for alternative fuel. Liquid fuels made from organic materials e.g sugar and vegetation. Gas fuels made from methane and c02, compressed air engines, hydrogen, electricity created by either nuclear or hydro, wind and solar means. Magnetic energy, Kinetic energy. The list goes on and on, and you can combine all of these methods with one another for even greater possibilities. The only reason we still use fossil fuel is because its extremely profitable.

  16. I dont believe that internal combustion engines are the cause of so called climate change. But I recognise that reliance on oil is both uneccesary and dangerous. Just look at the current scramble for oil between nations of the world carving up the middle east, africa and central asia for pipeline and refinery deals. Sadly more global conflict will result from this, much like the european scramble for africa back in WW1.

  18. Restoring industrial hemp to its rightful place in agriculture today will return much control to our farmers, and away from the multinational corporations that dominate our political process and destroy our environment. These capital-intensive, non-sustainable industries have usurped our economic resources and clear-cut huge tracts of the world’s forests, given us massive oil spills, wars, toxic waste, massive worldwide pollution, global warming and the destruction of entire ecosystems.

  22. I actually support ‘CrimsonKaiju’ here, he was very calmly explaining his believes and we had an intelligent discussion. Although we will never agree we never became hostel or swore, it was refreshing. Do not group me with you ‘cosmo’ you are far to aggressive, why get angry over what someone else believes? Live and let live.
