They had a great idea, the concept was wonderful but the parts are just "off" a little bit. Why wouldn't they go that last 5% and make sure the tabs fit in the slots right, and the drawings on the fan piece actually match up with the holes where they're supposed to attach? That design problem is really detracting from the amount of fun the toy could be, and it's just sloppiness on the part of the manufacturer, which is really disappointing when you spend so much money.

We had to use tape to hold the fan blades together, as the tabs just didn't fit in the slots without warping the wings all out of shape (and then the tabs kept popping out anyways). It's hard, with the shape of them, for wind to actually make the turbine move. I wonder if the people who wrote favorable reviews actually put it together yet.

Toy is educational, but needs a lot of parental assistance. A little too hard for our 8 year old to do by himself.

dad needed to do most of the building as child is 8 and it was over his head but in a year he'll be able to take it apart and rebuild it so its a toy we can keep for a long time.

I purchased this for my very advanced scientifically minded 7 year old daughter and it was a disappointment. It's flimsy and needs an adult to help with the assembly. We're very science oriented so we thought this would be a lovely gift but it's poorly constructed and definitely overpriced. It won't last and I'm not sure she'll get much use out of it. My daughter definitely loved it so I guess it does well on that front.
